Your account

Your account is personal and sits outside any workspace. It lives at /dashboard/account, reached from Profile in the user menu at the bottom of the sidebar.

The page is three cards: Account settings, Notifications and a red Danger zone.

Change your name and avatar

The first two rows of Account settings are Avatar and Name.

Click the avatar to pick an image from your computer, up to 10MB. Once one is set, a Remove button appears next to it. With no avatar you get a generated one based on your account.

Name is a plain text field, placeholder John Smith. Click Save changes at the bottom of the card, or press Enter in the field.

Change your email

The Email row is on the same card, but it does not save like the others. Editing it and clicking Save changes sends a verification link to the new address, and nothing changes until you open that link.

The toast confirms it: Check your inbox, with We sent a verification link to <new address>. Open it to confirm your new email.

The link is valid for 1 hour. Requesting a new one expires the old one.

There are two rate limits. You can only complete a change once per hour, and you can only make 5 requests per hour. Both refusals tell you how long to wait.

When email is locked

If you have Google or GitHub connected, the email field is locked. The row description gains Unlink social accounts to update it., clicking into the field raises a toast reading Email is locked with Disconnect every connected social account before you change your email address., and the server refuses with Disconnect Google and GitHub before changing your email!

Disconnect every provider first, then change the address, then reconnect them.

An account created purely through a provider and with no email sign-in cannot change its email at all: Your account cannot change email because it has no email sign-in!

Connect a sign-in provider

The Third-party sign-in row sits at the bottom of the same card, described as Connect an account to sign in faster with third-party providers. There are two buttons, Connect Google and Connect GitHub.

Clicking one opens the provider's sign-in popup. If your browser blocks it you get Your browser blocked the sign in popup. Please allow popups and try again!

The provider account has to use the same email as your Modulify account. If it does not, the connection is refused with That <provider> account uses a different email than your account (<your address>). Please connect the <provider> account that uses <your address>! A provider account already linked to somebody else is refused too.

GitHub accounts with a private email can fail with We could not read the email from that Github account. Make your Github email public or grant email access, then try again!

Disconnect a sign-in provider

Once connected, the button turns red and reads Disconnect Google or Disconnect GitHub. It asks first: Disconnect Google? with You'll no longer be able to sign in with Google, but you can still sign in with your email (<your address>).

If you are currently signed in through the provider you are disconnecting, Modulify switches your session over as part of the same action. If that switch fails you are signed out and told Please sign in again.

Notification and sound settings

The Notifications card covers how you are alerted when an AI generation or a publish finishes. Applies to all your projects and every desktop browser you sign in on.

It has two sections, Generation and Publish, each with the same pair of switches.

Sound	Plays a sound when that thing finishes
Browser notification	Sends a desktop notification when that thing finishes while you are away

Each switch saves as you flip it. There is no save button on this card.

Turning on a browser notification asks your browser for permission the first time. Underneath, a notice tells you the state you are actually in:

• Not asked yet: Notifications will not show yet because this browser has not been given permission. with an Allow button.
• Blocked: Notifications will not show because this browser is blocking them. A browser will not let a site ask again once blocked, so it has to be changed once in your browser settings. with a Show me how button that opens step by step instructions for your browser.
• Allowed: Allowed in this browser. Your device can still hide notifications through its own system settings or Do Not Disturb, and that is not something we can change from here.
• Unsupported: Notifications will not show on this device. They are delivered on desktop browsers, so your setting still applies when you sign in there.

Delete your account

Delete account is the only thing in the Danger zone. The confirmation reads This permanently deletes your account and everything you own. Your workspaces and members lose access immediately, and all your data is removed. This cannot be undone.

There is no restore. If you want to keep a workspace alive under someone else, transfer it before you delete.
