Modulify

Skills

Attach reusable instruction sets so the agent builds to your standards.

On this page

A skill is a named instruction set: design direction, brand voice, copywriting, SEO, conversion and so on. Attaching one to a project changes how Modulify builds, so you stop giving the same correction on every request.

Skills are guidance for the build, not code. The instructions themselves never ship to the published site.

Browse the catalogue

Open Skills in the dashboard sidebar. The page is at /dashboard/skills.

There are two tabs. Explore lists everything available to your workspace with a count, and Favorites lists the ones you starred.

Each skill shows its name, a short description and a category badge. Skills that came from the shared library carry a second badge reading Community.

The toolbar has a search box placeholded Search skills, a grid and list view toggle, and a category dropdown that starts on All categories and shows a count next to each category. Search matches the name, description, category and contents.

When nothing matches you get No skills with Try a different category or search. On an empty Favorites tab it reads No favorites with Star a skill to pin it here.

Favorite the ones you use

Click the star on a skill card to favorite it. Favorites are per workspace, not per person, so starring one pins it for everyone you work with.

Favorited skills sort to the top of the picker in chat, which is the point of doing it.

Attach skills to a project

Skills are attached per project, and there are two ways to do it. Both toggle the same thing.

From the slash picker

Type / in the chat box and a picker appears. Keep typing to filter by name or category. Click a skill to attach it, and the / you typed is removed from your message.

The picker shows a checkmark on skills already attached, and clicking an attached one detaches it. Each row also has a star, so you can favorite without leaving the composer.

From the plus menu

Click + at the bottom left of the chat box, then Manage skills. The submenu is headed Skills followed by how many of the ten slots you have used, and lists every skill with a checkmark on the attached ones.

The + button carries an orange badge counting your attached skills and connectors together.

The ten skill limit

A project holds 10 skills at once. Past that, attaching another raises Skill limit reached with the note that you can enable up to 10 skills. Detach one to make room.

Skills at the limit appear greyed out in the menu rather than failing when clicked.

What happens on the next message

Every message you send after attaching carries the full instructions of every attached skill, and they take priority over Modulify's defaults wherever they are relevant to your request.

You do not need to mention a skill for it to apply. Attaching it is the instruction.

When a reply used skills, a small sparkle icon with a count appears under the assistant message. Hover it and a tooltip lists them by name, along with any connectors used on the same turn.

Attach skills before the first build

The picker also works on the dashboard prompt box, before a project exists. Skills you choose there are carried into the project when it is created, so the very first build already follows them.

Skills are shared with the workspace

A skill attached to a project applies to everyone working in that project, on every message, regardless of who sends it. That is the intent: everyone builds from the same playbook.

  • Connectors give the agent access to outside apps while it builds.
  • Writing prompts covers what still belongs in the message itself.
