The Friction We Couldn't Design Away
But something kept coming up.
Every time a new user signed up, there was a moment of friction we couldn't design away. They'd build something they loved in Modulify — then they'd have to export it, paste it into Webflow, manage a Webflow account, deal with Webflow's pricing, publishing settings, hosting, and on and on. The design was done. But the work wasn't.
We watched this pattern repeat itself hundreds of times. Someone would get excited, build something genuinely beautiful, and then hit a wall the moment they tried to actually put it online. Set up a Webflow account. Choose a plan. Configure your domain. Figure out publishing settings. Troubleshoot why something looked different after the paste. Each step was small, but together they formed a barrier that a surprising number of people never cleared. They'd drop off. Their site would never go live. The work would disappear into a folder somewhere, unseen.
Who Modulify Was Built For — And Who It Actually Served
For professional Webflow designers, that handoff makes sense. They live in Webflow every day. The export step is just part of their workflow — like saving a file. They already know the platform, they have existing accounts, and the tool serves them well. We built Modulify for them, and for a long time, that felt like enough.
But as we grew, we realized the majority of people coming to Modulify weren't professional Webflow designers. They were founders who needed a landing page. Consultants building a personal brand. Small business owners who wanted something better than a generic template but didn't have the time or money to hire a designer. For all of them — people who just wanted a beautiful website, fast — Modulify was one tool too many.

Why does building a beautiful website still require so many steps?

Building the Other Half
So we made the decision to build the other half.
It wasn't a small call. It meant rethinking a lot of what Modulify was, investing heavily in infrastructure we'd never had to think about before — hosting, publishing, domains, performance — and accepting that we were no longer just an AI design tool. We were becoming a complete platform. That's a bigger responsibility. But it's also the right one.
What "Complete Platform" Actually Means
The new Modulify is exactly that. You describe your site, we design it, and you publish it — all in one place. No Webflow account needed. No copy-pasting between tools. No juggling hosting and domain settings in a separate dashboard. You go from the first prompt to a live URL without ever leaving Modulify.
We're not abandoning design quality — that was always our core, and it still is. If anything, this update doubles down on it. The sites Modulify generates are still built with the same attention to layout, typography, spacing, and visual craft that made people fall in love with the product in the first place. The difference is now the design gets to live somewhere, immediately, without a second tool in the middle.
And if you've been using the Figma export feature as part of your design review process — that still works. You can export any component or page to Figma for client presentations or handoff, then publish directly from Modulify when you're ready.
What This Means for You
