Modulify started as an AI tool for Webflow designers. You gave it a brief, it gave you a sitemap, wireframes and styled pages, and you took that into Webflow to finish the job.
Around 30,000 people signed up for that. It worked. It was also only half a product.
Because the honest limitation was this: Modulify could design your site, but it could not run it. You still needed somewhere to host it, someone to publish it, a monthly bill from whoever was keeping it online, and a separate tool the moment you wanted a dashboard or a login or a CMS.
Modulify 2.0 fixes that. It is a full platform now. You describe what you want, and you get a real website, web app or dashboard, built, hosted and published in one place. One subscription covers all of it. No handoff, no deployment step, no second tool, no second invoice.

What actually changed
The old Modulify assembled pages from pre-built sections. You gave it a brief and the AI picked from a library. Useful, and still useful, but the AI was choosing between options rather than making something.
2.0 generates. You write a prompt, and it produces a full page or a full multi-page site from scratch, with layout, copy, styling and structure that fit what you asked for. Then you keep talking to it. Change the layout. Rewrite the headline. Fix the mobile breakpoint. Add a pricing table. It responds to plain instructions, section by section, until it looks right.
That is the part people mean when they say vibe coding, and it is the thing the old builder could not do no matter how good the prompt was.
What sits underneath it is the part that makes the difference.
Same models. Different taste.
Let me be blunt about something the category avoids saying out loud.
The underlying models are close to a commodity. Everyone building in this space has access to more or less the same intelligence. That is not where any of us win.
The difference is what you feed into it and what you have taught it to consider acceptable.
Modulify was built by people who design websites for a living. The type scales, the spacing rules, the section patterns, the colour logic, all of it is opinionated, and all of it was made by designers rather than inferred from whatever was lying around on the internet. So the output arrives already looking like something a studio would hand over.
That is the whole bet. Not better AI. Better taste, wired into the product.
That wiring shows up differently depending on which canvas you are in. In the Webflow canvas it is the design systems, the curated sets the AI builds within. In the AI canvas it is Skills.
Skills
Before you generate, you can switch on Skills. Each one is a body of standards that rides along with your prompt and shapes what comes back. Motion & Animation handles how things move. Accessibility holds the output to WCAG expectations and Performance to Core Web Vitals, two bars that most generated sites quietly fail. SEO & AI Search covers how the page gets found, by search engines and by the models people now ask instead of searching. Blog & CMS handles content structure.
You pick them per build, and you can run several at once. A marketing site and an internal dashboard do not need the same standards applied.
This is the difference between a tool that has taste and a tool that talks about it. The judgment is not hidden in a system prompt somewhere and hoped for. It is a set of switches, and you can see exactly which ones are on.
You can tell the difference in about four seconds when you put two outputs side by side. We will be publishing exactly those comparisons.

This is the change I think matters most, and it is the one that gets least attention when people talk about AI builders.
Every tool in this category hands you a site and then leaves. You still have to take the output somewhere, set up hosting, wire a domain, configure a deploy, and pay someone else every month for the privilege of the thing being online. The builder was never the expensive part. The running of it was.
Modulify 2.0 includes hosting and publishing.
You build the site, you hit publish, and it is live. On a free Modulify subdomain if you just want it up, or on your own domain if you already own one. No deploy step, no separate host, no second invoice, no Vercel or Netlify account to keep an eye on.

Webflow has not gone anywhere
If you came to Modulify for Webflow, read this bit carefully, because I do not want anyone thinking we walked away from them.
Webflow support is still in the product, and nothing you relied on has been removed. But I want to be precise about how it works now, because it affects a decision you make before you start building.
Modulify has two canvases.
The Webflow canvas is the original builder, still there behind a toggle. There is AI in it, but a deliberately narrow kind. You give it an initial brief and it assembles a page, then you can regenerate an individual section or rewrite its copy. What it cannot do is invent. It picks from a library of sections we designed and built ourselves, and everything beyond that is done with controls: layouts, structures, themes, colours, image styles. The output exports to Webflow or Figma, and follows Client-First naming so it arrives tidy rather than as a pile of divs. This is the only place export lives.
The AI canvas is the new generative builder. Nothing is picked from a library. You prompt, it builds from scratch, you keep talking to it until it is right, and you publish and host on Modulify. This is where the vibe coding happens.
The difference is not AI versus no AI. It is a constrained AI that guarantees Webflow-ready output, against an open one that can build anything but stays inside Modulify.
They are separate canvases, and they do not hand work to each other. A site built in the AI canvas cannot be exported to Webflow. A site in the Webflow canvas cannot be freely reshaped by prompting. I would rather tell you that here than let you find out halfway through a project.
So the decision is simple, and you make it at the start. If the site has to end up in Webflow, start in the Webflow canvas. If you want AI to build it and Modulify to host it, start in the AI canvas.
There is also a migration path. If you have a Webflow site you like and do not want to redesign, we rebuild selected sites 1:1 inside Modulify, keeping the design, the pages, the CMS structure and the content model as they are. From there your team can extend it with AI. Be clear that this is a one-way move: the migrated site lives in the AI canvas, so it can be built on with prompts but not sent back to Webflow. It is a hands-on service, so it runs through the Webflow to Modulify waitlist rather than a button.
One last thing worth saying. Every other AI builder in this category outputs React and nothing else. Modulify is the only one I know of that can put a design into Webflow at all. Pricing
Simple, and deliberately not punishing. Remember that every plan below includes hosting, so this is the full cost of having a site online, not just the cost of making one. Full detail is on the pricing page.
- Free. $0, forever. One site, 35 AI credits a month. Preview and publish to a free subdomain, with a database, storage and access to every design system. Carries a small Modulify badge.
- Starter. $25/month, or $20/month billed yearly. One site, 100 credits. Removes the badge and adds custom domain support and export to Webflow and Figma from the Webflow canvas.
- Pro. $50/month, or $40/month billed yearly. Everything in Starter, plus team members so you are not building alone.
- Scale. For teams that already have a good site and want to add pages without hiring a designer and a developer for every one. Adds your own design system and dedicated support. Talk to us.
Credits and site count are adjustable on Starter and Pro, so if you need more of either, you scale the plan rather than jumping a tier.
How credits work
This is the part I want to be precise about, because it depends on which mode you are in.
In AI mode, the generative 2.0 builder, prompting costs credits. Generating a page, refining a section, restructuring a layout, rewriting copy, all of it runs on compute, so all of it draws down your balance. That is the honest trade for a model doing real work on every request.
In Webflow mode, the toggle for the modular building tools, credits only burn on AI image generation. Everything else is free. Use placeholder images or the free Lummi library and you may never touch your balance at all.
So the same plan behaves differently depending on how you build. Your credit balance is visible in the app at all times, and top-up credits are available if you need more. Unlike plan credits, top-ups roll over. The FAQs cover the billing edge cases, seats, proration and cancellation.

What is next
I am not going to publish a roadmap with dates on it, because roadmaps with dates on them are usually fiction and I would rather not lie to you in a launch post.
What I will tell you is where the work is going.
The biggest one is a direct CMS editor. Right now most editing goes through the prompt, and prompting is the wrong tool for small jobs. If you want to fix a typo in a blog post or swap a product image, you should be able to click the field and change it, the way you would in any CMS. That is being built.
Alongside it: more design systems, deeper app functionality, better collaboration for teams, and more direct control over generated output for people who want to get their hands into it. Everything that ships gets logged on Updates.
