# rename_folder

Changes the name of one folder and leaves its slug, and with it the dashboard URL, as it is.

To change the URL as well, use `update_folder_slug`. Renaming needs either that you created the folder or the **Edit folders** permission in its workspace. See [Folders](https://modulify.ai/docs/projects/folders#rename-a-folder-or-change-its-url).
