# rename_chat

Gives a chat of a site a new title, for everyone in the workspace.

- Title: Rename a chat
- Scope: `chat:write`
- Access: Makes changes

The title must be 1 to 80 characters, and anything else is refused with a `400` reading `A chat title must be 1 to 80 characters!` Every open chat can be renamed on every plan, including the one whose `chatKey` is `main`, the chat every site comes with. A chat that is read-only on the current plan is refused with a `403` reading `This chat is read-only on your current plan!` A chat that does not exist, or was closed, answers `404` with `That chat was not found!`
