# list_templates

Source: https://modulify.ai/docs/api/sites/list-templates

Browses the public Modulify site templates, the published and cloneable sites Modulify showcases.

- Title: List site templates
- Scope: `sites:read`
- Access: Read only
- Endpoint: `POST /v1/list_templates`

Use it to see what kinds of site you could start from. It needs no workspace, since the templates are public, and it lists them newest first, with featured templates ahead of the rest.

One call returns at most 8 templates and the response reports the total, in `count` over the [HTTP API](https://modulify.ai/docs/api) and in its first line over MCP, so page with `offset` 8, then 16. See [Templates](https://modulify.ai/docs/projects/templates).

## Request

Call it with a `POST` to `https://api.modulify.ai/v1/list_templates`, sending the inputs below as a JSON object. The token needs the `sites:read` scope.

It only reads and changes nothing, so retrying it is safe.

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.modulify.ai/v1/list_templates \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{}'
```

Over MCP, the same method is the [list_templates tool](https://modulify.ai/docs/mcp/sites/list-templates).

## Inputs

| Input | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `offset` | integer | No | How many templates to skip. Pages are 8 long. Defaults to 0. |
| `term` | string | No | Keeps only templates whose name, description or category contains this text. |

## Response

Every call answers with the [JSON envelope](https://modulify.ai/docs/api/requests-and-responses#the-response) of `success`, `message`, `data`, `code` and `version`. `data` holds the result described above, and on a method that returns a total, `count` carries it. The [response headers](https://modulify.ai/docs/api/requests-and-responses#headers-on-every-method-call) carry the call's `X-Request-Id` and what is left of your per-minute budget in `X-RateLimit-Limit`, `X-RateLimit-Remaining` and `X-RateLimit-Reset`. [Errors](https://modulify.ai/docs/api/errors) explains every status code a call can answer with.
